As Principal of St Ita’s Catholic Primary School, welcome to our website. It is the first step in making the important decision in choosing a school for your child’s education. By reading through our website, you will start to build a picture of the many strengths of St Ita’s and the extensive facilities we have. But this is only one aspect of a successful school. I would encourage you to explore our school further by following us on Facebook, talking to others within the community and booking in for a tour. I would welcome
you to meet the many people that make this school what it is. A school defined by a sense of welcome, community, a focus on learning, with many opportunities for children to excel. It is a privilege to lead this school due to the commitment of staff, the support of parents, and primarily, due to the enthusiasm and positivity of the 346 students. As the Principal, and as a staff, we are committed to getting to know each and every child, and their learning needs. Students who feel they belong and are known by their teachers, will better engage in their learning and have a better sense of wellbeing. Here at St Ita’s we are small enough to know each and every child, and yet big enough to offer an extensive educational programme.
As a Catholic community we welcome children from all denominations and live by the values of faith, care, truth, peace and service. We are expected to respect one another, be safe in all we do, and have responsibility for our learning and our choices.
This stage of your children’s education is just one part of their journey. As part of the enrolment process, we will speak with you about your child’s strengths and needs, and we will also work closely with their previous kindergarten or school. Students who complete their primary education also have a range of secondary education choices, including St Laurence’s College, Our Lady's College, Loreto College, All Hallows, Brisbane State High and Brisbane South State Secondary College.
I look forward to meeting you and your child as they begin the next stage of their journey in learning.
